With a four-game road trip concluded, and the team not playing again until Tuesday, the Buffalo Sabres assigned forwards Mikhail Grigorenko and Phil Varone to Rochester on Saturday morning.

The pair join forward Tim Schaller, who was returned to the Amerks prior to Friday’s game in Tampa.

Grigorenko scored his first goal of the season in Tuesday’s loss to New Jersey, giving him two points (1+1) in 12 games for Buffalo this season.

Varone played three games during this recall, and picked up his first-career two-goal game on Thursday in Carolina.

Schaller was held pointless in his two-game recall, leaving him with one goal in six games with the Sabres this season.

Rochester is back in action tonight when they host Western Conference-leading Oklahoma City at The Blue Cross Arena. Game time is 7:05 p.m. The Amerks will induct Chris Taylor into the Amerks Hall of Fame prior to tonight’s game. Tickets are still available and can purchased by clicking here.

The Sabres are off until Tuesday when they host Detroit at First Niagara Center at 7 p.m. Dominik Hasek will have his No. 39 retired to the rafters in a pre-game ceremony. Click here to read full details on the night’s festivities.
