The Buffalo Sabres Alumni Association will take part in the 2nd Annual “Skating to Cure Diabetes” event, a 24-hour hockey game to benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. The event will take place Saturday, June 18 through Sunday, June 19 at Hockey Outlet Arena on Niagara Falls Blvd. in Wheatfield, NY.
The portion of the 24-hour hockey game that will feature the Buffalo Sabres Alumni is scheduled to take place at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 18 when former Sabres players face off with the JDRF Stars. A $10 donation is required for admission to the game.
The Sabres Alumni will also host a one-hour hockey skills clinic during the event, which will begin at 5:10 p.m. on June 18. The clinic is open to players of all ages for a $25 donation per player, but spots are limited. To reserve a spot in the clinic, call 716-694-9990.
In addition to the Sabres alumni game and clinic, the event will also feature a Buffalo Sabres Sled Hockey exhibition game on June 18 at 4 p.m. that includes members of the gold-medal-winning Team USA . There will also be raffles and auctions throughout the event with great autographed sports memorabilia. On Friday, June 17 from 5-8 p.m., the event kicks off with a Flying Bison Beer tasting at the Flying Bison Brewery ($20 per person).
