SABRES AGREE TO TERMS WITH DEFENSEMAN JORDAN LEOPOLD

Buffalo Sabres GM Darcy Regier announced today the Sabres have agreed to terms with unrestricted free agent defenseman Jordan Leopold on a three-year contract.
Leopold (8/3/1980, 6’1, 200 lbs., shoots left) had 26 points, including a career-best 11 goals, in 81 combined games for Florida and Pittsburgh last season. He also played in eight playoff games for the Penguins in the 2010 Playoffs.
A native of Golden Valley, Minn., the 29-year-old Leopold has 135 points (40+95) and 190 PIMs in 436 career games with Calgary, Colorado, Florida and Pittsburgh. Leopold scored a career-high 33 points (9+24) in 2003-04 with Calgary.
Leopold was originally drafted by Anaheim in the second round (44th overall) of the 1999 Entry Draft.
