REINHART RETURNED TO JUNIOR

The Buffalo Sabres announced on Friday morning the team has assigned forward Sam Reinhart to the Kootenay Ice of the Western Hockey League.

Buffalo’s first selection (second overall) in the 2014 Entry Draft, Reinhart had one assist in nine games played for the Sabres this season. Reinhart recorded his first career NHL point on October 25 in San Jose when he assisted on Nicolas Deslauriers’ game-winning goal.

Reinhart, who turns 19 on November 6, had 105 points (36+69) in 60 games with Kootenay in 2013-14. Reinhart also led Kootenay with 23 points (6+17) in 13 playoff games, and was named the WHL's 2013-14 Player of the Year and Most Sportsmanlike Player of the Year.
