The Prospects Challenge rosters are out and Buffalo’s roster features many players Sabres fans caught a glimpse of at the team’s Development Camp in July.

The Prospects Challenge, presented by Tops, Post Foods and Honey Bunches of Oats, begins Saturday at 7 p.m. at First Niagara Center with a match between the Sabres and New Jersey Devils. The Devils will take on the Boston Bruins on Sunday at HABORCENTER and the event will conclude Monday night when Buffalo faces Boston at First Niagara Center.

Here's a look at some notable players on each team's roster:

Jack Eichel and Sam Reinhart, No. 2 overall picks the past two drafts, are expected to bolster the center ice positions for the Sabres. They’ve played against each other in international competitions and most recently at the Blue & Gold intrasquad scrimmage this summer. But the Prospects Challenge will mark the first time that they’ll play together in Sabres uniforms.

Several forwards like Eichel, Justin Bailey, Nicholas Baptiste, Evan Rodrigues and Jean Dupuy will be starting their first professional seasons and hope to make a good impression with this round-robin event.

On the blue line, Jake McCabe is the experienced player on the Sabres back end with nine NHL games under his belt. In his first full professional season, he racked up 29 points (5+24) in 57 games for the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League. Brendan Guhle and Devante Stephens, draft picks in 2015, are among those that will join him on D.

Andrey Makarov, who made his first NHL start last season, will be between the pipes along with C.J. Motte and Canisius College product Keegan Asmundson.
