Gustav Possler (2013, fifth round) scored for the second-straight game Wednesday as Sweden remained undefeated at the 2013 USA Hockey National Junior Evaluation Camp with a 4-0 shutout of Team USA.

Possler lit the lamp at 8:42 of the second period when he drifted to the slot on the power play and followed up on the rebound of an Alexander Wennberg (CBJ) shot to give Sweden a 3-0 lead. The marker gives the talented left winger four points (2+2) through the first three games of camp, tying Sebastian Collberg (MTL) for the team lead with two exhibitions remaining.

Following USA’s dismissal of 13 players Tuesday, J.T. Compher (2013, second round) was placed at center on a line with fellow National Team Development Program products Hudson Fasching (LAK) and Tyler Motte (CHI). Compher continued to execute with energy, attitude, and a tight checking game while generating his share of offensive chances. The third-line unit gained momentum with each shift, but USA’s offense struggled as a whole en route to being outshot by a 39-27 margin.

USA, whose teams have taken losses in four of five camp outings, will look for a bounce-back effort Thursday versus Finland at 1 p.m. ET. Sweden will look to keep it rolling when they take on Canada at 4 p.m. ET. The squads will then take Friday off before concluding the weeklong event with a pair of games on Saturday.
