The Portland Pirates are sticking with the hot goaltender in JP Lamoureux. The netminder has started the last four consecutive games for the Pirates, resulting in a single loss and a three-game winning streak.
Portland swept the Worcester Sharks in a home-and-home series, defeating them 5-3 on Nov. 18 and 3-1 on Nov. 20, with Lamoureux making 61 saves in the process. The Pirates followed that up with a 4-2 win against Norfolk on Nov. 21
Lamoureux made a total of 102 saves and allowed eight goals in the four-game stretch, and currently has a 2.28 GAA and .916 SV% through the month of November.

Nathan Gerbe has come back with a purpose after missing two weeks with a concussion. The winger has registered seven points (1+6) in five games since his return, including a goal and pair of assists in Friday’s 3-1 win against the Sharks.
Despite missing five games, Gerbe is third on the Pirates in scoring with four goals and 13 helpers through 16 contests.

NEWS AND NOTES:
• The Pirates signed former Niagara University forward Matt Caruana to a Professional Try-Out Agreement on Nov. 19. Caruana was playing for the Gwinnett Gladiators of the ECHL where he had six goals and two assists for eight points in 11 games.
• Hans Benson was released from a Professional Tryout Agreement today. Benson played 10 games for the Pirates, collecting 35 minutes in penalties. The 26 year-old is expected to play for the Cincinnati Cyclones in their ECHL game on Wednesday.
• Drew Schiestel and Matt Generous each scored the first career AHL goals in Saturday’s 4-2 win against the Norfolk Admirals.
• The Pirates have earned 10 of 12 possible points (4-0-2-0) in their last six games, moving up to sixth-place in the Atlantic Division.
• Travis Turnbull broke a bone in his hand and is out indefinitely.
