The Buffalo Sabres announced today that their American Hockey League affiliate, the Portland Pirates, will play a pair of regular season games against the Rochester Americans at HSBC Arena during the 2009-10 AHL season.
Portland and Rochester will meet for the first time in Buffalo on Thursday, November 12 at 7 p.m. That will be followed by a 4 p.m. game on Sunday, March 7. Ticket information for both games will be announced at a later date.
Now entering their second season as Buffalo’s AHL affiliate, the Pirates played their first game at HSBC Arena against the Albany River Rats on February 10, 2008. The game was attended by 11,144 fans, the largest crowd to ever witness a Pirates home game in franchise history.
