Carter Hutton made 14 saves over two periods, and Vladimir Sobotka had a goal and an assist for the Buffalo Sabres in a 3-2 win against the Pittsburgh Penguins at KeyBank Center.

Jake McCabe and Jack Eichel also scored for the Sabres, who outshot the Penguins 14-7 in the first period.
Penguins defensemen Will O'Neill and Juuso Riikola scored 38 seconds apart late in the third period. Casey DeSmith made 26 saves.
Scott Wedgewood relieved Hutton at the start of the third period and made 10 saves.
