The North Buffalo Bisons 10U Girls team continues their dominant play this season winning all three of their playoff rounds of the Lower Lakes Female Hockey League with 6 wins and 0 losses. The U10 team advances to the Ontario league finals April 3-5 in Oshawa, Ontario. The team won their regular season division championships with a record of 17-2-1. The Lower Lakes league is comprised of over 400 girls teams from all of Ontario and Western New York from the U10 to U19 level.
The Bisons played the North Halton Twisters in the first round in a best of three series wining in two straight convincingly with scores of 4-0 and 4-1.
The Bisons next played the Burlington Barracudas in the round two and won the 2-out of -3 series also in two games 4-2 and 3-1.
Most recently, the team played the St. Catharines Chaos in the semi finals winning two straight in this series 6-2 and 2-1. The second game provided for a dramatic finish where the Bisons scored with 1.9 seconds left in the game to clinch entry into the Finals.
The Buffalo Bisons Girls Hockey organization provides the most competitive girls teams in Ontario and Western New York from the 19U age group down to the 10U level. The organization will be holding tryouts for the 2009-10 season in April. Visit www.bisonhockey.net
