Last Friday’s playoff-clinching win over Philadelphia was the most-watched game of the season on MSG – and in Buffalo that night – averaging a 13.0 rating and 22 share locally. The game actually peaked at 16.9/27 between 9:45-10 p.m., during the end of regulation and overtime. No other show aired locally came close to matching the viewership of the Sabres/Flyers game at any point during the night. This was the third-highest rated Sabres game on MSG since 2005-06, trailing only December 22, 2007 at Philadelphia (13.5) and February 27, 2008 vs. Nashville (13.1).

Buffalo’s TV ratings on MSG this season increased 35.3% since February 22, averaging an 8.8 rating. They posted 14 games of 8.0 or higher during this time, and four of the last six games were 10.0 or higher.

For games 3 and 4 in Buffalo, MSG will utilize a super slo-mo replay camera. The super slo-mo playback allows the viewer to visualize effects they wouldn’t normally see with the naked eye, such as the spin of a puck or the ice shavings that fly when a player stops.

MSG’s Hockey Night LIVE! will air nightly at 11 p.m. beginning this Saturday, featuring detailed analysis and discussion on Sabres/Flyers series by host Al Trautwig and their panel of hockey experts.

Throughout the playoffs, the Sabres Radio Network has been expanded to now include WBEN 930 AM and 107.7 FM. This will include seven minutes of pre-game coverage and up to 15 minutes post-game. All other pre- and post-game coverage will air in its entirety on Sports Radio WGR 550 AM and WKSE 98.5 HD 2. Due to the time conflict, radio coverage of this Saturday’s Buffalo Bandits game will be moved to 1400 AM WWWS.
