While it isn’t likely that Ryan Miller
will make his return Wednesday night to take on the Florida Panthers, the Buffalo Sabres may have their goaltender back by the weekend.
UPDATED: MARCH 25, 10:53 AM: In a pre-game interview, Lindy Ruff reported that, barring any setbacks, the plan is to have Miller back in the lineup for Friday's match-up against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Head Coach Lindy Ruff said the netminder suffered no setbacks yesterday in a full practice with the team and is within days of returning to the lineup.
“He reacted well, he had a good day,” Ruff said. “He’s coming along quick now.”
Miller has missed the last 12 games after suffering a high-ankle sprain on Feb. 21 against the New York Rangers. In that span the Sabres have had a 3-7-2 record.
He participated in team’s full workout Monday and continued to show improvement Tuesday at HSBC Arena.
“He looks good, he’s moving well in the net,” Derek Roy
said. “It’s great to see a competitor like him back at it, working hard… he’s a warrior out there.”

The Sabres may also see the return of Adam Mair by the end of the week. The winger suffered a mild strain in his knee March 14 against the Atlanta Thrashers.
“He’s been practicing… so we’ll get him ready,” Ruff said. “Adam seems like he’s back to almost full strength.”
Ruff also indicated that Teppo Numminen’s ankle has healed after having an infection last week.
The Sabres worked on special teams during practice on Tuesday, with a few changes to the power play units:
Dominic Moore - Thomas Vanek
- Derek Roy
- Craig Rivet - Toni LydmanDrew Stafford
- Paul Gaustad - Jason Pominville
- Jaroslav Spacek - Tim Connolly
