Jeff Skinner has been selected as the Sabres' nominee for the King Clancy Memorial Trophy, presented annually to the NHL player "who best exemplifies leadership qualities on and off the ice and has made noteworthy humanitarian contribution in his community."
Nominees are selected from each of the NHL's 32 clubs. The winner will be chosen by a committee of senior NHL executives led by commissioner Gary Bettman and deputy commissioner Bill Daly.
The first-place winner will receive a $25,000 donation to a charity of their choice. Two runners-up will each receive $5,000 donations.

Jeff Skinner goes Bald For Bucks

Skinner joined studio analyst Martin Biron and play-by-play announcer Dan Dunleavy in support of Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center's "Bald for Bucks" campaign, allowing pediatric patients and teammates to shave his head following a March practice at KeyBank Center.
Skinner contributed $53 for each $50 donation to his campaign, ultimately raising over $100,000.

"I think this year a lot of players got a taste of what it's like to be in this community," Skinner said after the season. "And that's a good feeling, obviously. Guys take pride in that, in playing for Buffalo and being a part of this community and interacting with fans."
Skinner had one of the best seasons of his career on the ice, matching his career high with 63 points and finishing second on the Sabres with 33 goals.
"Skinny's been just awesome this year and he's been a leader for us," Sabres alternate captain Kyle Okposo said. "After games here, he'll go in the weight room and he's the last guy in there most nights. He works so hard on his game and on his craft, loves the game, loves hockey."
