Mathieu Darche has faired well in November for the Portland Pirates.

The winger has tallied six goals and four assists in six games during the month, after only registering two helpers throughout October. The 31 year old has also earned a plus-eight rating in the stretch.

Darche added four points this weekend in consecutive wins against the Providence Bruins and Albany River Rats, including three goals. He now ranks fourth on the team in scoring with 12 points (6+6).

On Friday, the Quebec native scored a goal in the Pirates to a 6-3 win over Albany and notched two goals late in the game to help the Pirates seal a 5-2 win against Providence on Saturday.

The Pirates continue Wednesday night as they take on the Hartford Wolf Pack.

After being named the AHL Player of the Week, Mark Mancari continued his scoring trend, adding a goal and a pair of assists on the weekend

The scores extend his point streak to a League-leading seven games.

After registering 57 points through 80 games in the 2007-08 season, Mancari is nearly halfway to that total after 13 games this year with 24 points (11+13)

Mancari ranks third in the AHL in overall scoring and leads the League with a plus-16 rating.

Not far behind Mancari is rookie Nathan Gerbe who ranks fourth in the AHL in scoring with 19 points (12+7) on the year.

Gerbe added a pair of goals and as many assists this weekend against the Bruins and River Rats.

He and teammate Tim Kennedy are now tied to lead rookie scoring with Kennedy recording four goals and 15 helpers this season. The pair have had continued to have solid chemistry throughout the year for the Pirates. Kennedy has had the primary assist on five of Gerbe’s goals.

Gerbe ranks second among AHL goal scorers with 12 scores. His six power play goals are tied for the league lead.

  • Until the Albany River Rats scored the first goal of the game on Friday night, the Pirates had not trailed in a game in 308:30 minutes of play. The last time the Pirates trailed before Friday night was on Wednesday, October 29th in their 3-2 overtime loss to the Hartford Wolf Pack.
