It was a lot of fun. It was nice to see a couple familiar faces again, meet the new guys in the system, and play at a high level like that for a couple days. It's a nice change of pace from the normal summer skates that we've been doing. It was a really competitive game to end these couple of days. I think I speak for a lot of guys to say we had a blast out there.
I think once the blood started flowing, we all got into it pretty quick, started banging bodies around there and got really competitive. That's a pretty cool thing to see when just a minor scrimmage turns into a pretty physical competition, and that's just a hockey player for you. I can't say enough about how much fun it was, and I can't wait to come back again next year.
I was pretty happy with camp. I made some good plays, I made some bad turnovers, but it's summer hockey. You kind of match yourself up to the competition, elevate your game for the week, and see what it's going to take to get up to that next level.
Especially since this was my second year, I was prepared for a lot of things, and last year was a real grind. I had a lot of fun this year, and I can't wait to come back again next year, it was a blast. They ran a really, really solid camp.
I'm going to go back to Wisconsin for another year, and I guess we'll take it year-by-year. I want to win a national championship pretty badly and next year we have a really great chance at it. I'm in a great position to develop; I have no hurry to leave Wisconsin. Coach [Mike] Eaves is awesome at what he does and he produces players year after year, so I'm in a good spot. I'm not going to rush things and we'll go from there.
