The team that scores first has won each game of this series so far. Dating back to the 2006 Playoffs, teams scoring first in a playoff game have a cumulative record of 312-148 (.678). This season that number is even higher, as the team scoring first has a record of 29-6 (.829). (Stats as of 4/23)
- ENNIS THE MENACE
Tyler Ennis scored the OT winner in Game 5, making him just the fifth Sabres rookie to score a playoff OT goal. Ennis is the first NHL rookie this to score in overtime this postseason. The last rookie to score in OT was Colorado’s Ryan O’Reilly on April 18/10. Ennis also combined with fellow rookie Marc-Andre Gragnani to score three of Buffalo’s four goals in Game 5. The last time two rookies combined for three goals in a playoff game was May 25/06: Anaheim’s Ryan Getzlaf and Dustin Penner.

Miller also joins the same duo as the only players to record two shutouts in one playoff year: Sauve (1980, 1983); Hasek (1994, 1999).
