Equipping the Team

by Staff Writer / Buffalo Sabres
The Buffalo Sabres already have one all-star penned in for the upcoming game between the Eastern and Western Conferences on Wednesday, January 24, 2007 in Dallas, TX. And no, it's not Daniel Briere, Maxim Afinogenov, Ryan Miller, or the one of other deserving players or coaches.

The first Sabre to be named to the Eastern Conference All-Star team is Head Equipment Manager Rip Simonick. Entering his 36th year as a member of the Sabres, Simonick will be helping equip the Eastern Conference All-Stars.

With having a lot of respect from his peers for his dedication, Simonick was chosen by Nashville Predators Equipment Manager Pete Rogers as part of the equipment staff for the game. Rogers was named lead man for the Eastern Conference earlier in the season.

Simonick and his equipment crew - Equipment Manager Dave Williams and Assistant Equipment Manager George Babcock - spend countless hours making sure everything is in working order for the players and coaching staff, so that they can in turn focus on the important part of hockey, playing the game.

Sabres Insiders can watch how Simonick and his crew work togethor in equipping the Sabres.
