Buffalo Sabres defenseman Brian Campbell was named the NHL's second Star Of The Week ending October 14.
Carolina Hurricanes goaltender Cam Ward was named the first star and Detroit Red Wings forward Henrik Zetterberg was named the third.
Campbell tallied seven points (1+6) as the Sabres won both games last week against the Atlanta Thrashers and Washington Capitals.
On Oct. 11, he recorded one goal and two assists as Buffalo defeated the Thrashers, 6-0. He followed that with four assists on Oct. 13 as the Sabres defeated the Capitals, 7-3.
Campbell leads all NHL defensemen in scoring with nine points (1+8) in four games.
He is also second in the league overall in assists with eight, behind only Ottawa's Jason Spezza with 11.
Campbell and the Sabres take on the Toronto Maple Leafs at 7 p.m. tonight at HSBC Arena, in the third of Buffalo's four-game home-stand.
