by Staff Writer / Buffalo Sabres
The Buffalo Sabres sled hockey teams, both Junior and Senior, made a clean sweep of the national championships at the second annual USA Hockey National Disabled Festival in West Chester, Pa., from April 7-9.

In their respective championship games, the Junior Sabres edged Bennett of Maryland 6-5 in triple overtime, while the Senior Sabres defeated the Chicago Blackhawks Sled Hockey Team 5-2.
The event, hosted jointly by USA Hockey’s Disabled Section and its Atlantic District, featured clinics and competition for all four disciplines of disabled hockey, including amputee hockey, deaf/hard of hearing, sled hockey and special hockey. More than 600 disabled athletes from across the country took part.
