Sabres at Worlds | Olofsson nets winner for Sweden

Recapping Sunday's action at the World Championship

Victor Olofsson scored the winning goal in Sweden's 3-1 victory over Slovakia at the IIHF World Championship in Latvia on Sunday. 

The victory propelled Sweden into fourth place in the Group A standings with one game remaining in group play. The top four teams from each group advance to the quarterfinal round.

Sunday's results

Sweden 3 - Slovakia 1

Olofsson's power-play goal broke a 1-1 tie with 8:22 remaining in the third period. Watch it in the tweet below.

Olofsson has two goals and one assist in six games. 

 

Finland 3 - Latvia 2 (OT) 

Arttu Ruotsalainen tallied three shots in 16:52 for Finland, which earned the win on Anton Lundell's goal in overtime. Finland leads the Group B standings with 15 points.
