The Sabres have recalled defenseman William Borgen from Rochester.
Borgen was recalled Friday and served as the team's seventh defenseman in Detroit. He was assigned back to Rochester on Saturday and appeared in the Amerks' overtime victory in Syracuse.

The 22-year-old appeared in four games with Buffalo at the end of last season, his first as a pro. He tallied 14 points (3+11) in 71 AHL contest with Rochester.
The Sabres lost defenseman Marco Scandella to a lower-body injury against the New York Rangers on Thursday. Scandella did not play in Detroit and was scheduled to undergo further evaluations over the weekend. John Gilmour made his Sabres debut in his place.
