Sabres sign Ullmark to 1-year deal

The Buffalo Sabres announced Sunday night that the team has signed goaltender Linus Ullmark to a one-year contract worth $2.6 million.
Ullmark compiled a record of 17-14-3 in 34 starts in 2019-20, setting a career high in wins. He finished the season with a .915 save percentage and a 2.69 goals-against average.

He also ranked ninth in the league with a .926 save percentage at even strength.
The Swedish netminder currently owns the fourth-best career shootout save percentage (.840) of any goaltender in NHL history with at least 20 shots faced.
Ullmark, 27, also improved his career shootout record to 4-2 during the 2019-20 campaign, and he trails only Ryan Miller (49) and Jhonas Enroth (10) for the most shootout wins in franchise history.

Among his highlights last season, he tied his previous career high with 44 saves in a 7-1 win against New Jersey on Dec. 2, 2019 and finished the season with a 4-0-1 record when facing at least 40 shots.
Ullmark was a restricted free agent who was set to have an arbitration hearing on Monday. The native of Lugnvik, Sweden, was drafted by the Sabres in the sixth round (163rd overall) of the 2012 NHL Draft.
