The Buffalo Sabres announced today that the team has acquired goaltender Ben Bishop and a seventh-round pick in the 2022 NHL Draft from the Dallas Stars in exchange for future considerations.

Bishop, 35, was placed on long-term injury reserve in December after sustaining a career-ending knee injury. He has one year remaining on his contract with a salary cap hit of $4,916,667.
Selected by the St. Louis Blues in the third round (No. 85) of the 2005 NHL Draft, Bishop was 222-128-36 with a 2.32 goals-against average, a .921 save percentage and 33 shutouts over 11 seasons with the Stars, Blues, Ottawa Senators, Tampa Bay Lightning and Los Angeles Kings.
