Buffalo Sabres winger Pat Kaleta will make his return to the lineup tonight at Philips Arena to help take on the Atlanta Thrashers.

The forward will play in Matt Ellis' place on the fourth line, alongside Adam Mair and Paul Gaustad. Head Coach Lindy Ruff said while he wanted to get Kaleta back in, it was a difficult decision to make as to whom to take out.

"Nothing easy but I want to get Pat going," Ruff said. "Obviously he had played really well before he went out and I think we can use his speed, we can use his physicality. We're going to have to look at maybe rotating a few guys because it really is a good group up front that has worked pretty hard."

Kaleta hasn't played since suffering a lower body injury on Dec. 27. He said earlier last week that he wanted to return to the lineup. However, following the morning skate today he admitted that may not have been the best option.

"I've been skating and progressing every day. Sometimes I'd like to play because that's just the mentality that I have but in some ways its smarter not to play," he said. "Tonight I feel really good though and I'm raring to go."

Puck drop is at 7 p.m.
