Lindy Ruff discussed Henrik Tallinder's injury status following the Buffalo Sabres' pre-game skate on Monday.  It sounds like he's progressing.

Henrik skated on his own today. Is everything on schedule?

"He’s had his test today and hopefully if he passes that, he can play by Wednesday."

The Buffalo Sabres will be without Henrik Tallinder for at least Wednesday night's contest against the Washtington Capitals.

Tallinder left Tuesday's 5-2 victory in Philadelphia [Mar. 4] after he was driven into the boards from behind by the Flyers Scottie Upshall, who was not accessed a penalty on the play.

Lindy Ruff addressed the play and Tallinder's status during his morning press meeting Wednesday.  The question and answer session went as follows.

How is Henrik Tallinder?

"He will be out for tonight [Wednesday]."

Any timeline further than that?

"No, it'll just be day-to-day"

Are you worried about any concussion timeline or anything like that or is it just his shoulder?

"I’m just really worried about his shoulder."

What did you think of the play, no penalty being called?

"Very disappointed. I just thought it was intent to injure and it was from behind. I’m not going to rant and rave about it, but from what I saw and when I watched on video, it’s what I saw."

That's a consistent message from Tuesday night to Wednesday morning from the Sabres head coach.

This is what Ruff said following Buffalo's 5-2 victory over the Flyers.

"I thought it was from behind.  I thought there was even an attempt to leave the feet.  When I looked at it, I thought he was defenseless on the play, vulnerable and it was a tough hit for him to take."
