Not surprising the Sabres were singing the praises of being back in Western New York following this morning's optional skate.

While players have to be happy to see the string of seven consecutive road games completed, they don't want the results to change.

After starting without a win in the opening two games, Buffalo comes back to HSBC Arena taking nine out of a possible 10 points in the final five.

Why was the team so successful that stretch in particular?
  • Buffalo has scored first in four of the past five games, winning each and posting a 4-0-1 record overall.
  • The Sabres have been leading or tied in 14 of their last 15 regulation periods.  The only time they trailed?  The first period in Atlanta (0-2) on Feb. 1.
  • Derek Roy has three goals and three assists in his last five games.
  • Jason Pominville has two goals and five assists.
  • The penalty kill has allowed three scores in 22 opportunities (86.3 percent).
That just about sums it up...
