At the press conference announcing the "Catwalk for Charity II" event scheduled for Feb. 2, Ryan Miller answered questions concerning his Amp Energy commercial that recently aired.

The spot features Miller and Kings netminder Jean-Sebastien Aubin  in a sort of back-alley, fight-club, Eight-Mile battle of words.

The setting is a mock ring complete with screaming, blood-thirsty spectators.

Miller said the shoot took place on an off day in San Jose during the Sabres West Coast road trip earlier in the season.  His portion of the shoot took about six hours to complete.

"The first two hours that I was there, they maybe used three seconds of that [footage]," laughed Miller.  "But it was a lot of fun and setup just like you would setup a movie with the extras.  We did take after take after take.

"It took me a while to get the Chinese down."

Listen to Miller let the Chinese barrage fly live at his press conference without a second thought.

Miller's Chinese Live
Yes, you read that correctly.

Miller actually learned the entire line of Chinese that's his winning strike in the battle.  In fact, he practiced it so much that it has become ingrained in his memory.  He easily recalled the entire line when asked at the press conference.

"They spelled it out phonetically and it took me about 20 times staggering over it," said Miller.  "I probably said it 30 or 40 times in a row.

"Finally, there were a few where I could stare [Aubin] in the eye and get it out."
