BUFFALO, N.Y. (July 16, 2012) --- The Buffalo Sabres today announced they will be holding an online auction of game-worn jerseys featuring the jerseys worn during the Blue and Gold Scrimmage at the team’s 2012 Development Camp. Each jersey will come with a certificate of authenticity. The proceeds from the auction will benefit the Buffalo Sabres Foundation.
There are 38 blue and gold practice jerseys available, worn during the scrimmage by the team’s prospects, including recent first-round draft picks Joel Armia, Mikhail Grigorenko and Zemgus Girgensons. Also among the 38 jerseys up for auction are those worn by players who have spent time in the NHL early in their careers, including Cody Hodgson, Luke Adam, Corey Tropp, Marcus Foligno and Brayden McNabb.
The auction will begin July 17 at 5 p.m. on the NHL Auctions site. Bidding will close at 9 p.m. on Sunday, July 29. Fans can access the auctions by logging onto the auction section of Sabres.com.
The mission of the Buffalo Sabres Foundation is to stimulate, support and encourage organizations that serve Western New York which are committed to youth hockey initiatives; the health, wellness and education of underprivileged/disadvantaged youth and military personnel; and the physically and mentally challenged athlete, by providing financial generosity and other platforms for their endeavors.
