Biron Agrees To Qualifying Offer

Buffalo Sabres General Manager Darcy Regier announced today that restricted free agent goaltender Martin Biron has accepted a one-year qualifying offer from the club.


Biron, the 6-3, 163-pound native of Lac St. Charles, Quebec appeared in 35 games last season for Buffalo. Biron finished the regular season with a 2.89 goals-against average and a 21-8 record in goal, including a 13-game winning streak from November 15 - December 17.

The 28-year-old Biron was one of Buffalo’s two first-round selections (16th overall) in the 1995 NHL Entry Draft. He is currently the longest tenured Sabres player. During his NHL career, Biron has appeared in 281 games, compiling a record of 122-111-25 with a 2.49 GAA.
