Buffalo succeeds in extending their back-to-back home wins with a 3-2 away victory over the Boston Bruins.

Ales Kotalik gets his 10th goal of the season in the first period, as Daniel Briere notches his 12th in the second. The winning goal goes to Henrik Tallinder as Buffalo now stands 11-9-0 in the league.

The game started out rocky as Mika Noronen faced a flurry of shots from the Bruins, several made by Shawn McEachern. Noronen remained solid as Ales Kotalik shoots a bullet, and scores, from the right point with ten seconds left in Buffalo's first power-play of the game.

Thomas Vanek gained perfect position in front of the net as he screens Andrew Raycroft while two Bruins chased Chris Drury, who made the pass to Kotalik.

Making nine saves in the first period, Noronen seemed to gain some confidence as he headed into the second and third.

At the start of the second the Bruins capitalized on a Buffalo penalty, scoring with just under four minutes gone in the period. Jiri Slegr shoots from the left point and Joe Thornton manages to fight off Kalinin, who had lost his stick, for the redirection.

Buffalo retaliated with a second goal off a shot from Toni Lydman, Briere collected the loose rebound and stuffed the puck into the back of the net.

The Sabres continued to pressure but with less than 30 seconds left in the second, P. J. Axelsson scores after a shot deflected off Teppo Numminen's leg. Noronen didn't have a chance to see where the play was coming from.

As the third period started Buffalo had a man advantage but wasn't able to capitalize. Noronen continued to play solidly as he controlled all the rebounds and kept everything away from the net.

With time winding down and less than five minutes remaining, Tallinder rips a shot from the point that catches the top corner of the net.

Once again Vanek was hovering in front of Raycroft which created enough of a distraction for Buffalo to seal the win.

This victory marked Noronen's first of the season as the Sabres extend their winning streak to three. Buffalo plays again on Tuesday, November 22nd against the New York Rangers, starting their first of eight games in thirteen days.
