Kyle Okposo scored both goals for the Buffalo Sabres to extend his point streak to four games and Jonas Johansson earned his first career NHL win as the home team defeated the Winnipeg Jets 2-1 at KeyBank Center on Sunday.
Johansson, making the third start of his career, made 25 saves for the W. The AHL All-Star is now 1-1-1 in four NHL appearances with a 2.28 goals-against average and a .910 save percentage.

Okposo has four goals and an assist during his streak. Sunday's contest was his 16th career multi-goal game and his first since March 31, 2018.
Zemgus Girgensons recorded two assists to give him three points (1+2) in two games this weekend. The Sabres were coming off a 5-2 road victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday.

What happened

Okposo opened the scoring 9:58 into the first period, knocking in a loose puck. Henri Jokiharu, skating in his 100th NHL game, took the shot from the point, it bounced off Girgensons and went right to Okposo.
Connor Hellebuyck stopped Jack Eichel on a partial breakaway a few shifts later to keep his team within one. Blake Wheeler eventually tied it when he got free in front with 3:23 left.
Then 7:47 into the third period, Okposo roofed a shot on the short side that got stuck in the top of the net to give Buffalo a lead they would not relinquish.

What it means

The Sabres are 29-25-8 on the season and 19-10-4 at home.
They have won five of their last six games and six of their last eight. Sunday's win also meant that Buffalo picked up its first back-to-back sweep of the season.
Buffalo is 7-2-2 in afternoon games this season, including a 6-2-0 record at home.
At the conclusion of the game, the Sabres found themselve six points behind Toronto for the third seed in the Atlantic Division. They are eight points behind Carolina, who holds the second Wild Card spot.
