The Buffalo Sabres were able to maintain success in the regular season even though the team was hit by injuries. A huge reason why players such as Drew Stafford, Daniel Paille, Clarke MacArthur, and Michael Ryan were able to transition so well to the Sabres was because of the impact Rochester Americans head coach Randy Cunneyworth has had at the AHL level.

Guiding Rochester for the past seven seasons, Cunneyworth has been instrumental in getting players ready for the NHL through his own dedication and work ethic. Ryan Miller, Derek Roy, and Jason Pominville have all received tutelage from Cunneyworth and all have blossomed into the players that they are today with his help.
