The Buffalo Sabres Puck Drop 2008, sponsored by Verizon Fios, saw more than 60 adult street hockey teams compete Sept. 20 on the streets surrounding HSBC Arena.
Teams battled in the full-day tournament in downtown Buffalo with a crowd of approximately 6,000 people in attendance. Opening games of the tournament began at 9 a.m. with championship games ending at 6 p.m.
The competition Saturday featured a high-spirited competitive and recreational division.

Competitive Division: Crazy Skills: Richie Carr, George Misener, Tom Misener, Steven Reinacher, Nick Koszuta
Recreation: Parkside Elite: Ryan Kelly, Mike Brennan, JJ Klimek, Chris Territo
No player walked away empty handed, as each received a HockeyFest t-shirt and hat for simply competing in the event.
