DETROIT – The playoff-bound Detroit Red Wings will wrap up their 2011-12 regular season schedule with a pair of important home games later this week, with the New Jersey Devils (Thursday, 7:30 p.m. – FSD & 1270 AM WXYT) and Chicago Blackhawks (Saturday, 1:00 p.m. – NBC & 97.1 The Ticket) set to visit Joe Louis Arena. As part of the ongoing ‘Hockeytown Thanks’ initiative, both of this week’s home games will feature several exciting in-arena promotions and giveaways as Detroit looks to enter their 21st consecutive post-season on a high note while also expressing gratitude to the best fans in the National Hockey League.

"Our fans have been nothing short of incredible yet again during the regular season, filling The Joe to capacity for all 41 home dates to bring our consecutive sellout streak to 69 games dating back to December of 2010,” says Olympia Entertainment President Tom Wilson. “We hope that the festive fan environment we're creating for these final two home games will show how much we appreciate their unwavering support."

Citizens of Hockeytown in attendance for Thursday’s showdown with New Jersey will all receive a free Nicklas Lidstrom bobblehead courtesy of FOX Sports Detroit. Special bobblehead distribution stations will be set up on the exterior of the facility at both the East and West (Gordie Howe) Entrances. Bobbleheads will also be available on the platform connecting JLA to its corresponding Detroit People Mover stop. Four (4) of the bobbleheads handed out will be brandished with a special marking entitling its lucky recipient to a post-game meet-and-greet with the Red Wings’ captain.

On Saturday, the Red Wings’ annual ‘Fan Appreciation Day’ will feature myriad promotions giveaways throughout what promises to be a memorable afternoon at The Joe. Prior to puck drop, arena patrons will be selected at random to participate in one-of-a-kind experiences such as Zamboni rides and penalty box visits, while three fans will be chosen to compete for the chance to win a Detroit Red Wings Edition RAM 1500 truck. Furthermore, Red Wings partners such as Amway, Tim Hortons, Buffalo Wild Wings, Antonio’s Restaurant, Coca-Cola, Uptown Entertainment, the University of Toledo, Belle Tire, Olympia Entertainment, Better Made Snack Foods and Heluva Good! Sour Cream Dips and Cheese will be all giving away prizes during what could prove to be a pivotal Central Division showdown between longtime rivals Detroit and Chicago.

A limited number of tickets to both of this week’s home games remain available for purchase. Tickets to all upcoming Red Wings home games, including Games 1 & 2 of the 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs (dates/times & opponent TBD), can be obtained at the JLA Box Office (313-396-7575), all Ticketmaster (800-745-3000) outlets and online at

The Detroit Red Wings Foundation will host a mystery holiday egg draw on the Joe Louis Arena concourse (behind section 126) at this Saturday's home game versus Chicago. For a $10 donation, fans can select from one of 250 Red Wings-themed holiday eggs. Each egg comes with a prize ranging from Red Wings merchandise to autographed memorabilia. One lucky fan will win the grand prize of an autographed Nicklas Lidstrom hat and puck combo.

Red Wings fans are able to save on post-season box office prices this spring by purchasing a full Playoff Ticket Plan that ensures the same seat for every possible Stanley Cup Playoff game staged at The Joe. To qualify for this offer, fans need only to place a low down payment on 2012-13 season tickets. In addition to affording purchasers significant savings, the Playoff Ticket Plan also offers the ‘Pay-as-the-Wings-Play’ payment option which eliminates the need to pay for the entire post-season up front. Fans electing to take advantage of this exciting offer are charged only for games that are guaranteed to be played throughout the duration of Detroit’s impending championship quest on a round-by-round/game-by-game basis.
