Wings Take Big Sniper in First Round

After trading their 18th pick down to number 20, the Wings took Anthony Mantha from Val D'Or of the QMJHL. Mantha's M.O. is that he's a big, 6'4 offensive forward with a booming shot who skated well for his size. He has some good hands to go with that shot, too.

Mantha said it's "such a great feeling" to be drafted by the Wings and his grandfather actually played here awhile back, as well.
