DETROIT -- The Red Wings have re-signed forward Patrick Eaves to a one-year contract.
Eaves, 26, was a first-round draft pick (29th overall) of the Ottawa Senators in 2003t. He spent his first four NHL campaigns with the Senators and the Carolina Hurricanes before signing with Detroit for the 2009-10 season.
In 65 games with the Red Wings, he finished with 12 goals and 10 assists. He also appeared in eight postseason games last season. In 307 career NHL games, Eaves has registered 57 goals and 55 assists for 112 points.
In 2005, Eaves was a finalist for the Hobey Baker Memorial Award as the top player in college hockey. He played three seasons with the Boston College Eagles of Hockey East.
