After going 0-2-4, the Red Wings were able to break their scoring slump and beat the Sabres 6-3 last Tuesday night. Detroit looks to keep that momentum going tonight as they face-off against Ottawa in Canada's capital. So far the two clubs have split their season series with the home team winning each game, Stephen Weiss scored twice, edging the Ottawa Senators 4-3 in the most recent game between the teams. Craig Anderson made 31 saves to give the Senators a win in the previous game at Canadian Tire Centre.

The expectation earlier this week was that goaltender Jimmy Howard would be ready to return for Detroit after leaving the Dec. 19 game against the New York Islanders with a lower-body injury and missing the next two games.  Niklas Kronwall's status is also uncertain, after leaving Tuesday night with a upper-body injury.
