DETROIT –The Detroit Red Wings will open the holiday season with a sold-out pre-Thanksgiving edition of the Toast of Hockeytown present by Oakwood Healthcare. The 12th annual wine tasting benefits the Detroit Red Wings Foundation and will take place on the covered ice of Joe Louis Arena on Wednesday, November 9, from 6-9 p.m.
Fans can look forward to mingling with the entire Red Wings team, several alumni and other local celebrities while listening to the sounds of the nine-piece band Persuasion and enjoying delectable foods and desserts. The event will feature over 70 different wines from Italy, Spain, France, California and Michigan.
Other event highlights include the chance to tour the locker room, a live and silent auction and the popular puck draw. For a $50 donation, guests can purchase a puck authographed by current members of the Detroit Red Wings team. One lucky guest will have the chance to win an experience-of-a-lifetime: dinner with Red Wings Executive Vice President and General Manager Ken Holland, Advisor to Hockey Operations Chris Chelios and Special Assistant to the General Manager Kris Draper. The winner will also receive two tickets to an upcoming Red Wings home game, a post-game tour of the locker room and a meet-and-greet with Head Coach Mike Babcock.
