Wings recall Andersson from Griffins

DETROIT – The Detroit Red Wings today announced that forward Joakim Andersson has been recalled from the Grand Rapids Griffins (AHL).  Andersson, 23, currently ranks fifth on the Griffins in scoring with 16G-19A-35P in 54 games played. The 6’2”, 205-lb. center appeared in four games for the Red Wings earlier this season, tallying 0G-0A-0P in addition to a rating of +1.

Currently in possession of a 43-21-3 record, Detroit will take on the Los Angeles Kings (31-24-12) later tonight (7:30 p.m. – FSD & WXYT 1270 AM) at Joe Louis Arena. All fans in attendance for this match will receive an Ian White 5x7 mini tradeable Fathead courtesy of Quicken Loans Inc. This evening’s game is also a Meijer Kids Night, with the first 2,500 fans aged 12-and-under set to receive a free Red Wings t-shirt compliments of Mejier. Face painters and an old-time-hockey organist will be on hand tonight at The Joe.
