Wings One Point Away from Extending Historic Playoff Streak

by Staff Writer / Detroit Red Wings

"Great moments... are born from great opportunity. And that's what you have here tonight, boys. That's what you've earned here tonight. One game..." - Herb Brooks in Miracle

Tonight, the Red Wings will look to extend their own miracle run, the jaw-dropping playoff streak which could improve to 22 in the coming hours, when they take on the Dallas Stars in The Lone Star State. A number of scenarios would put the Red Wings in the postseason tonight, but the easiest one is to walk away with at least one point tonight against a Dallas team that has suddenly come down to Earth after a recent winning streak. Nevertheless, the red hot Wings will no doubt have a tough game to play against a Stars team hoping to play spoiler and shine in their season's curtain call. While Detroit has a rich history of coming up big in crunch time, it all comes down to these three periods at American Airlines Center.
