Wings' Hot Start Not Enough for Blues' Strong Finish

by Staff Writer / Detroit Red Wings

The Red Wings came out firing tonight, scoring two goals in the first eight minutes, with several other opportunities, including a Kronwall slapshot that rang off the post. Nevertheless, the Blues battled back, scoring the next three goals. It wasn't until late in the second that Pavel Datsyuk's spectacular bank shot off the back of Jake Allen tied the game up, 3-3. After a scoreless third, the Blues took advantage of a bad bounce in overtime and pushed a rebound past Jimmy Howard.
