Top-ranked Michigan set to battle MSU at 'The Joe'

DETROIT -- College hockey’s fiercest rivalry heats up “The Joe” as the Michigan Wolverines battle the Michigan State Spartans at 7 p.m. Saturday, February 23, at Joe Louis Arena.
Michigan, currently the No. 1 ranked team in the country, has dominated the ice this season with a record of (25-3-4). The Wolverines look to continue their winning streak this season at Joe Louis after winning the Great Lakes Invitational tournament this past December. Among the Wolverines’ top players, freshman forward Aaron Palushaj (7-24--31) was named this week’s CCHA Rookie of the Week.
Reigning NCAA Champion and sixth-ranked Michigan State (20-8-5) looks for their first neutral-ice win this Saturday. Returning to “The Joe” is junior forward Justin Abdlekader (13-1--27), draft pick of the Red Wings and a current plus/minus leader with the Spartans.
