Think Detroit PAL benefits from gift

by Staff Writer / Detroit Red Wings
DETROIT ? During the first intermission of Saturday's Red Wings game, the Ilitch Charities for Children presented a check amounting $29,500 to Think Detroit PAL.

The donation was a result of funds raised during the annual Champions' Challenge Charity Softball Game played at Comerica Park in September. The game pits current Red Wings' players against Detroit Tigers' alumni players.

Proceeds from the game also benefited Ilitch Charities for Children, the Detroit Tigers Foundation and the Detroit Red Wings Foundation.

Ilitch Charities for Children chairman Christopher Ilitch and vice president Anne Marie Krappmann were joined by former Tigers pitcher Larry Pashnick and Red Wings defenseman Mathieu Schneider for the presentation during the Red Wings game on Saturday. The funds will be used to support youth baseball and hockey initiatives throughout Detroit.

Dan Varner, the CEO of Think Detroit PAL accepted the check.
