DETROIT -- Good things come to those who wait.
The Detroit Red Wings snapped a 100-game streak without scoring a short-handed goal by netting back-to-back shorties 37 seconds apart in the second period, lifting Detroit to a 6-2 win over the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday night at Little Caesars Arena.
For the second straight game, Tyler Bertuzzi opened the scoring for Detroit, and finished with two goals. His second tally, which put the Red Wings ahead, 3-0, gave the 26-year-old 150 career points.
Pius Suter also found the back of the net twice. It was his second career multi-goal game and his first with the Red Wings. Dylan Larkin and Robby Fabbri both scored in the third period to secure Detroit's highest scoring output since defeating the Chicago Blackhawks at the United Center, 6-3, on Oct. 24.
