Hronek made the Red Wings out of training camp and was one of five players to make his NHL debut in Detroit's home opener on Oct. 4 vs. Columbus. The 21-year-old defenseman picked up his first NHL point with an assist on Oct. 11 vs. Toronto and scored his first NHL goal the following game on Oct. 13 at Boston. He returns to the Red Wings having produced points in each of his last three NHL games, totaling one goal, two assists, 18 penalty minutes, 13 shots, five hits and three blocked shots in 19:12 average time on ice over six games. Since returning to the Griffins, Hronek leads the team's defenseman and is tied for ninth among all AHL blueliners with 18 points (5-13-18) in 20 games. The 6-foot, 178-pound defenseman has produced points in nine of his last 10 games with the Griffins, highlighted by an eight-game point streak from Nov. 23-Dec. 7 which included four multi-point games and a franchise record-tying eight-game assist streak.
In 97 games with the Griffins since 2016-17, Hronek has registered 59 points (17-42-59), a plus-31 rating, 76 penalty minutes and 174 shots on goal. He was a member of the 2018 AHL All-Rookie Team after picking up 39 points (11-28-39) in 67 games in his first full AHL campaign. Originally drafted in the second round (53rd overall) of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft, Hronek skated one season for the Ontario Hockey League's Saginaw Spirit in 2016-17 prior to turning pro, logging 61 points (14-47-61) in 59 games. The Hradec Kralove, Czech Republic, native also represented the Czech Republic at both the 2016 and 2017 IIHF World Junior Championships, where he combined for six points (2-4-6) in 10 games. He also debuted for the men's national team at the 2018 IIHF World Championship, picking up a goal and two assists in eight games.
Lashoff, 28, has not skated for the Red Wings in 2018-19 but has totaled 123 NHL games with the club since 2012-13, tallying 13 points (2-11-13) and 57 penalty minutes, while also appearing in eight NHL Stanley Cup Playoff games. The Albany, N.Y., native has skated in 17 games for the Griffins this season, logging three points (0-3-3), 19 penalty minutes and a plus-two rating. Lashoff has played parts of 10 seasons for the Griffins since making his professional debut during the 2008-09 season. The 6-foot-3, 219-pound defenseman has tallied 87 points (21-66-87), a plus-18 rating and 213 penalty minutes in 417 games with the Griffins, while recording 19 points (5-4-19) in 73 AHL postseason games for Grand Rapids.
Originally signed by the Red Wings as an undrafted free agent on Sept. 30, 2008, Lashoff is one of three two-time Calder Cup champions in Griffins franchise history, winning AHL championships in 2013 and 2017 with Grand Rapids. Prior to turning pro, Lashoff spent four seasons in the Ontario Hockey League, logging 91 points (20-71-91) and 186 penalty minutes in 215 games between the Barrie Colts and Kingston Frontenacs. Lashoff also won a gold medal for the United States at the 2010 IIHF World Junior Championship in Saskatchewan, picking up two assists in seven games.
