DETROIT -- Outside perception may be that the Red Wings are on the verge of splintering as their frustration mounts because they cannot figure out how to turn around their recent swoon.

Detroit has gone 1-5-4 in its last 10 games and its home record stands at a mystifying 5-6-5, which ranks 24th out of 31 NHL teams.

DETROIT- Over an 11-day span, the Red Wings will face the Boston Bruins twice - Wednesday night at Little Caesars Arena (8 p.m. face-off) and on Saturday, December 23, in Boston.

It will be a critical two games for the Wings against their Original Six foe because Boston (14-9-4) sits third in the Atlantic Division, four points up on the Wings with three games in hand over Detroit (11-13-6).

DETROIT -- The Red Wings and Florida Panthers came into the game in similar position, needing to get some points, especially against an Atlantic Division opponent.

Although the Wings had plenty of offensive chances, the Panthers forced overtime with a third-period power play goal and then defenseman Mike Matheson got the overtime winner on a rebound for a 2-1 victory at Little Caesars Arena Monday night.

DETROIT - Four groups of Red Wings players, alumni and broadcast personalities raised a total of $16,237.72 for The Salvation Army's Red Kettle Campaign during a two-hour span on Friday night throughout Metro Detroit. Red Wings Alumni Kris Draper and Chris Osgood raised $7,800 to earn the victory in the 12th annual bell ringing competition.

The Wings had a chance to build on Tuesday's victory over the Winnipeg Jets and while they did from a process standpoint, the result was a 6-1 loss to the St. Louis Blues Saturday afternoon at Little Caesars Arena.
