CAR@DET: Raymond nets PPG in final seconds of OT

Lucas Raymond's overtime heroics continued Tuesday night, as the rookie scored his second career game-winning overtime goal to lift the Detroit Red Wings over the Carolina Hurricanes, 4-3, at Little Caesars Arena.
Detroit had a 2-1 lead in the third period behind goals from Carter Rowney and Michael Rasmussen, but Carolina scored twice in the final frame to take a 3-2 advantage. With 3:10 left in regulation, captain Dylan Larkin sent the game into overtime with his team-leading 27th goal.

Both clubs exchanged good chances in the extra session, with Raymond's game-winner coming on a power play with just eight seconds remaining in the game.
Goaltender Alex Nedeljkovic made 27 saves to pick up the win in his second start against his former club.
With the victory, Detroit (24-24-6) snapped Carolina's (37-11-5) five-game winning streak.
NEXT UP:The Red Wings look for their second straight win on Friday night when they visit the Tampa Bay Lightning. Puck drop for the first game of a back-to-back is set for 7:00 p.m., with broadcast coverage on Bally Sports Detroit and the Red Wings Radio Network.

Rasmussen skated in and scored off a pass from Jordan Oesterle on a rush from the right face-off circle to give the Red Wings their first lead of the night. Filip Zadina also tallied a secondary assist on the goal.

Jesper Fast's shot from the left face-off circle went off the stick blade of Rowney and into Detroit's net to tie the game.

The Hurricanes retook the lead after Jordan Staal, brother of Red Wings defenseman Marc Staal, put a backhander past Nedeljkovic for his sixth goal of the season.
Detroit 3, Carolina 3 (16:50, 3rd period)
Just 38 seconds later, Larkin knotted the score after he stole the puck off Brady Skjei's stick, then tucked a backhander past Raanta. The goal extended Larkin's point streak to 10 games.

On a power play, Moritz Seider found Tyler Bertuzzi near the left side of Carolina's crease. After the puck bounced loose, Raymond collected it and buried the game-winner for his 16th goal of the season. With the assist, Seider set a franchise record for the longest point streak by a rookie defenseman in franchise history with a seven-game run (1-10-11).
