Dylan Larkin is the epitome of a Hockeytown leader.
The forward was born in raised in nearby Waterford, Mich., played collegiate hockey at the University of Michigan, represents Team USA in international competition and has been an ambassador for the Detroit Red Wings since he was 19 years old.
And now, after being named the 37th captain in franchise history on Jan. 13, and completing his first season with the 'C' in empty arenas due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Larkin is finally being properly celebrated by the Hockeytown faithful as the leader of the Red Wings.

Larkin began his seventh NHL campaign and second season as captain on Thursday night against the defending Stanley Cup-champion Tampa Bay Lightning, but it was his first Opening Night with the 'C' on his chest in front of a capacity crowd at Little Caesars Arena, and the Red Wings did everything they could to make it a special night.
Unbeknownst to Larkin, the Red Wings invited nine former captains to the 2021-22 Home Opener, including Steve Yzerman, Nicklas Lidstrom, Henrik Zetterberg, Alex Delvecchio, Mickey Redmond, Red Berenson, Dennis Hextall, Nick Libett and Paul Woods, for a pregame ceremony on the ice, so the legends could appropriately welcome Larkin into the cherished captain fraternity.
The Red Wings captains all signed the jerseys they wore during the emotional on-ice ceremony, and fans now have the chance to bid on every authentic autographed jersey, as part of the Captain Jersey Auction.
