Red Wings hold open practice this Saturday

DETROIT -- The Detroit Red Wings and The Capuchin Soup Kitchen are teaming up to help feed hungry people with a unique opportunity for Red Wings fans. The team will open the doors to practice this Saturday, February 11. Aadmission is three or more non-perishable food items per person. Doors will open at 9:30 a.m. with practice scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m.

Prior to the start of practice, fans will have the chance to participate in fun contests and question and answer sessions with Red Wings personalities. During practice, fans will watch the players go through various drills and prepare for the team's final game before the Olympic Break on Sunday, February 12 against the Colorado Avalanche.

The Capuchin Soup Kitchen is a human service organization of caring and loving people inspired by the spirit of St. Francis and sponsored by the Capuchins of the Province of St. Joseph and concerned benefactors.

The Capuchin Soup Kitchen serves the poor who suffer from the lack of basic human needs: material needs, such as food, clothing, and household necessities; psychological needs, such as motivation, self-esteem, and rehabilitation; and social needs, such as support systems and meaningful relationships.
