TRAVERSE CITY -- Red Wings 2020 first-round pick Lucas Raymond scored two more goals, but Detroit dropped a 5-2 decision against the St. Louis Blues in the second game of the NHL Prospect Tournament at Centre Ice Arena on Saturday night.
Raymond's first goal tied the game, 1-1, at 8:45 of the first period. St. Louis added two more goals in the respective 13th and 17th minutes to take a 3-1 lead into the dressing room at intermission.
The second period went scoreless before Jake Neighbours' goal at 4:50 of the third extended the Blues' lead to 4-1. Raymond scored his second goal at the 11:30 mark, with Jared McIsaac and Joe Veleno combining for assists. St. Louis' Scott Perunovich completed the game's scoring at 14:19 of the third period.

Raymond led the Red Wings with four shots and was plus-1 in the game, while Chase Pearson attempted three shots. Detroit goalie Sebastian Cossa collected the start, making 25 saves on St. Louis' 30 shots.
Head coach Ben Simon was impressed with Raymond's compete level that led to finding the back of the net twice.
"He's competing, he's working hard. He's got three goals in the first two games, but I think that's a result of his play away from the puck and his willingness to get to the hard to score areas," said Simon. "He's been good on the power play with his patience and composure; we've used him on the PK.
"Two goals tonight is great, but I think his play away from the puck was even more noticeable. When things were a little bit rough and chippy he got frustrated initially in the first period. But he kept his work boots on and really continued to fight through. I thought he showed a little bit of resilience in that regard and I was extremely happy with how he competed. As a result, he scored twice."
